WINCLADA NOTICES
Diana Lipscomb has written a basic manual for Winclada and it is available from her website.
It is near the bottom of the page you will find through this link:
This is a very nice manual, and I am working with Diana to improve it. Diana also has docuemntation for NONA here.
NEW VERSION OF WINCLADA IMMINENT
A NEW version of WInclada will be posted BEFORE the end of MAY 2000. Several new features are being added, and several bugs are being fixed. In the meantime, I will try and post notes on bugs and workarounds on this page: Plaease send any bug reports to contact@cladistics.com ....
1) The current version of Winclada has a limit on the combined length of the path (this is inadvertently left over from the DOS version of Clados, sorry!!). This results in a crash when very long file names are read, or files are embedded deeply in nested directories such that the total path length is excessive. IF YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM, SIMPLY PLACE WINCLADA IN THE SAME DIRECTORY WITH YOUR DATA FILES, AND MAKE SURE THAT THE TOTAL PATH IS LESS THAN 60 CHARACTERS. I am sorry about this and it is already fixed in the upcoming version....
2) RAM problems may occur with repeated taxon fusions. There is no workaround for this other than restarting the computer.
3) The function OST was inadvertently left in the current WInclada menu. This function is incomplete, and does not do anything useful. So stop trying to figure it out....
